區華欣把她幾年來翻來覆去的試驗都收進《蟾蜍夢多》，包括版畫和故事，圖文交錯。《蟾蜍夢多》的源起，是華欣於2017前往布宜諾斯艾利斯的藝術家駐留計劃，她在當地的版畫工作室埋首創作一個月，專注學習攝影平版畫技術，這令她回到印刷技藝的執迷當中。這書是華欣首個出版計劃，同名展覽《蟾蜍夢多》是她繼 2013 年《斷爛記》後的第二次個展，書中十二篇短篇的畫作以及近作，首次於艺鵠藝術空間完整地展示。

Do they, every once in a while, join the insomniacs club and venture into an eerie dream?’ Dreams of a Toad takes you on a trip to the seemingly mundane yet neurotically fantastic world of animal fables.
Dreams of a Toad is the result of repeated experiments by Au Wah Yan in the past few years. It consists of prints overlaid with stories; images intertwined with words. The starting point of Dreams of a Toad went back to 2017, when Wah Yan stayed in Buenos Aires for one month for an artist-in-residence program of printmaking. During her stay, she worked from 10am-6pm in the printmaking studio every day, focusing on learning the techniques of photolithography.
Dreams of a Toad is Wah Yan’s first publication project, and also her second solo exhibition, following her debut solo exhibition ‘Fragments’ in 2013. All 12 drawings included in Dreams of a Toad, as well as her recent creations, were showcased for the first time in ACO Art Space.

區華欣（b.1984）
生於荔園隔籬，香港藝術家，畢業於中文大學新亞書院藝術系。從事繪畫、漫畫、版畫創作，同時也進行教學工作。插畫曾刊登於香港不同紙上媒體，書籍出版以及劇場宣傳設計。2013年首次舉辦個展《斷爛記》，2014年創作《咩世界》漫畫，至今持續刊登於《星期日生活》。近年專注在版畫創作，2017年於阿根廷 Proyecto’ace 版畫工作室駐留，同年跟友人成立點印社。
Born in 1984, Au Wah Yan grew up next to Lai Yuen and studied fine arts at New Asia College of The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Wah Yan is an artist and a printmaker whose drawings and illustrations have been published in numerous local magazines and newspapers including Ming Pao, C for Culture, Muse, META, Ming Pao Weekly and City Magazine. She has also worked on book publications and designed posters for various theatre projects. Some of her occasional group exhibitions include ‘Zoo As Metaphor’ (2014) and ‘Zoo As Metaphor 2’ (2018). In 2009, she organised ‘P-at-riot June-forth Cultural Festival’ with her friends. She was also a member of Wooferten from 2011 to 2013. Her debut solo exhibition ‘Fragments’ was held in 2013. In 2014, she started her bi-weekly comic strip Me1 World in Sunday Mingpao. She has devoted much of her creative efforts to printmaking in recent years. She was an artist-in-residence at Proyecto’ace, Argentina in 2017 and started Printhow, a printmaking collective, with her friends the same year.
